My art is a confluence of my love of nature, my love of technology and
my impulse to share these things with others. The process starts
with digital photographs which I recombine following gut instinct to
discover new relationships between the photos, the subjects and
myself.
Primarily a personal exploration, the images are also an effort to
share my journey with the people who see the images. There is
nothing more statisfying for me than having other people get excited
by what they see in my art.
I started this web gallery to share my art with a wider
audience. It is an opportunity for me to share what I have
discovered and for others to share what they have discovered with
me.. I find the ways that technology is changing how we think
about ownership to be particularly exciting. At the forefront of
this process of change is the open source software movement. My
art has been largely created with open source software and the
creative commons license provided with all the images and text in this
website shares that heritage.
Much of my personal art work has a strong connection to both technology and
the natural world. So many things in our culture tell us to think of nature
and technology as being in opposition rather than woven from the
fabric. However, technology follows a similar process of
evolution and is ultimately just an extension of our own
nature.
