- Comments
- This is the classic fairy-tale fungus
and is always a stunning species to come across in the field.
In some parts of the world this species is eaten because it can
induce hallucinations. However, this species also contains a
number of toxins that can be fatal if present in sufficient quantity.
Several deaths have been attributed to this species in the US.
- Processing
- Original image was taken on 35mm Fuji
Velvia using a Nikon 55mm macro lens. The slide was then digitized
with a Nikon Coolscan with 24bit color depth. The color depth was
reduced to 8bits using Debabelizer.
